Katie Karn, MSN, CNM
Katie was born and raised in Southern California where she had a passion for people and families from a young age. From middle school on she knew she was going to care for moms and babies and she was focused on doing just that.
It was after receiving her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego that she moved to Fort Worth Texas for her first nursing job as a labor and delivery nurse at John Peter Smith Hospital. It was there that she sharpened her assessment skills and learned how to take care of complex obstetric needs.
She transitioned to working as a charge nurse at Texas Health Mansfield where she helped in opening the Labor and Delivery unit for the new hospital. At Texas Health Mansfield she met the amazing midwives from Midwife and Co and FWBC.
From the moment she began working with the midwives, she knew that this was her dream company and people to work with and for. Katie completed her Master’s of Science in Nurse Midwifery at Texas Tech University. She was able to complete her year-long clinical experience with Midwife and Co and FWBC.
Katie truly believes that midwifery is her life calling and that God has and will continue to direct her every step of the way. She is humbled and excited by the opportunity to care for women in all stages of life.
