Carla Morrow is a Certified Nurse-Midwife who has spent over twenty years providing care to women and their families. Carla earned a master’s degree in nursing from Texas Christian University in 2004, a post master’s certificate as a women’s health nurse practitioner from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas in 2006. Her desire to become a midwife started while working in the nurse practitioner role as she soon recognized she missed attending women during labor and birth. She then pursued midwifery by getting her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Baylor University in 2010.
Carla is an accomplished entrepreneur having established a hospital midwifery service in Cleburne and Dallas, Texas and she founded the Fort Worth Birthing & Wellness Center in 2013. She enjoys the business side of things as well as designing and creating sustainable midwifery practices that will be around for years to come. Carla also enjoys providing a wide range of women’s health care services. “I look for community-based experiences where I can really get in and get to know people and their families”. “My main goal is to care for women throughout their life and the various stages of health issues they may encounter.” After working several years as a midwife in busy practices, attending over 1800 births, and managing a variety of clinical situations it became clear to her that she could better serve women by offering both intimate personalized care in a birth center and hospital setting. She is passionate about empowering women and their families through education and enjoys assisting them in making positive health care decisions based on research, individual risk factors, and life philosophy. Carla has been married to her husband Shawn for 29 years. Together they enjoy spending time with their children and visiting their family farm in Rising Star, Texas.
